So I met my date at a local sports bar last night. We had never been in person an when I saw him, I was pleasantly surprised that he was even better looking in person than in his pictures. He was very much my type, very tall, rugged, dark hair and nice teeth. We talked about the basic stuff that you talk about on a first date. The only thing that was a little unusual is that we had figured out in our conversations before the meeting that he works with my ex-husband’s brother. Luckily my ex-brother-in-law is a great guy and we are still on good terms so it wasn’t as weird as it could have been.

We talk about our past just enough to get a feel for where each of us has been. He was with his ex-wife for 12 years, 8 of those years married. He has 2 boys from the marriage and by all accounts is a very good father. It takes me little time to realize that he successful, established, attractive, in a great place financially and very easy to talk to you. At this point, I realize that the only reason he is single is because he is recently divorced and I better snatch this guy up before somebody else does.

We spent 4hours talking, laughing and it was extremely comfortable to be around him. We have quite a bit in common and I could have easily spent many more hours with him, but we both had to work in the morning so at Midnight we called it a night. After I told him that I made sure to wear heels on the date because of his height, he said that next time I should wear flats so he can see how short I really am. So, I guess that means that there will be a next time, this is good news.

We end the date with a hug and kiss on the cheek. When he got home, he sent me a text to let me know that he had a great time and asking if we could do it again soon. My response… ABSOLUTELY. I think we are meeting for lunch tomorrow and I hope there will be more dates to come.
